Re: driveshaft loops for certification
bugger looks like it has to be on the front universal of the front driveshaft great so that is something else to get caught on stuff when off road

Re: driveshaft loops for certification
I had to put mine at the front of the rear driveshaft not on the front driveshaft. just used a 100mm electrical duct saddle which he was happy with. you can get some beefier ones from unistrut or multistrut if it was required but my guy was happy with mine
Re: driveshaft loops for certification
okay i am confused now
just reread the bit i found and it refers to a front engine rear drive vehicle but doesn't mention anything about 4wds

Re: driveshaft loops for certification
The cert man told me where to put mine. Just take it without it on and he'll let ya know. My cert guy said he hadn't passed a 4wd first time yet anyway.
Re: driveshaft loops for certification
well the guy i saw was only really worried about the engine brackets and the driveshaft loop
but it does help that my engine bolted directly to the old transmission

Re: driveshaft loops for certification
hi there i made my hoop in two sections ie a upper 'u' section and then a lower 'u' section. then i replaced the lower section with some 9mm chain that i cut off my mate chain that he uses for tieing stuff down on his truck. i use a shackle on either end to conect to the upper section. this means that as you belly slide over stuff that the chain moves and drops down afterwards. the warrant guy seemed happy as well so that was a bonus

Re: driveshaft loops for certification
When they did my cert this issue came up,but surprisingly enough theres a way around it......
If you can show the certifier that the engine you have transplanted used smaller or the same size driveshaft components as what you have in your vechicle (i.e. uni crosses) apparently there is no need for the driveshaft loop

Re: driveshaft loops for certification
In that case if both vechicles used the same size driveshafts and you can prove that to you certifier you shouldnt have a issue.
