Got a 3 day run starting early friday morning. :D

Heading to Otoi Domain for friday night, on to Lake Waikaremoana for saturday night, then down to the Napier-Taupo road via Minginui, then home.

About 8 trucks i think, over varying terrain. Will post pics up when we get back.

Hope the weather keeps good for us, and the rest of you, whatever you be up to. :D

On my way to Minginui, with the Bride and the lad, at about 1 this arvo. Returning on Sunday night, I like to have a full day at home before having to think about work again on tuesday.... damn work, it just gets in the way of all the fun.

I'm off to Waikanae beach for the weekend

Taking the Cruiser so we can go up and down the beach, doubt it will even have to use 4wd but it's something different

After todays achievements i'll be taking the 3.8 out of mine now :(
Was good for a solid six hours on the dunes and at the end of the day on the way back to the camp site, a bad rattling noise started coming from the engine theres a mechanic at the camp site that reckons its something to do with the camshaft and will drop to five cylindars shortly.
Gonna be a long 350kms on monday back home

what with my two sons growing like weeds, my oldest boy almost as tall as me now (6 foot) the poor old Feroza was getting a tad cramped in the back for the boys .. so sadly have to see it go :( :( :( .. had a looksee around for a slightly bigger replacement and came across this old Brick, Shes a 1988 Mitsubushi Pajero 2.5TD with the Factory LSD with 190 000km on the clock for $1400 .. guy threw in the roofracks (about $300 worth and fit my kayak perfectly) the prevous owner had fitted new shocks all round and redone all the bushes with them fancy orange coloured ones and a complete new set of filters and oil .. apparently he bought it for the Mrs but she couldnt back it properly or park it so it had to go ,, bodys in average condition for age with no rust .. just a couple of small love taps around the rear bumper and one on the front guard the only other issue was the driver power window relay is toast so cant wind the window up and down at the moment
but for $1400 WTF
will be spending this weekend fitting a new stereo into her, removing the cb radio from the Fez and mounting it in the Paj and doing a full service on it ...

next week a set of muddies and a trip to the wreckers yard to look for a set of Shorty Saf rear springs (apparently fitting those will give the Paj a 2 inch lift in the rear) will wind up the torsion bars in the front .. shave the bump stops and be good to go for a play on Baileys beach next weekend.

Oh and anyone want to buy a Daihatsu Feroza ?? coming up for sale soon

our club ,king country 4wd have been busy out at ngaroma this week end , some of them have been there since early sat morn and are still there now. thanks to dennis and lynn (cruz on here) who have been dealing with doc for ages regarding the area , they got the local doc guy out there for a meeting the other week to make some decisions on what we can do.so now there is 2 shelters at the new campsite, the camp site has been cleared and leveled with heaps of parking for tow wagons and a loading ramp just below. at this stage doc should supply a loo set up that we can set up out there.we are going to grass seed the area in front of the shelters so eventually everyone can pitch there tent on nice smooth grass, which we want to seperate from the parking area with logs or similar to keep it for camping on not skidding up, a bulldozer spent 11 hours up there over the last 2 days clearing the site ,tidying up the drains and reopening old tracks , ore donated $180 toward this from a trip wopass organised last year and the rest is being footed by dennis and lynn them selves and the club,we are applying for some funding from nz4wda so hopefully we can give them some money back.andy who drove the dozer and transported it out there ina 6 wheeler from his work is sorting out the truck costs until we here back from nz4wda. so a big thanks to all those and other members that gave time/materials , kc4wd have been made caretakers of the ngaroma block and we are putting a sign up with its new name of NGAROMA 4WD PARK and ther are little orange markers to follow to get there now, now all we need is for all of you buggers to get out ther and use it .with the shelters and clearing it is now nice to camp out there and will only get better as we finish more bits off , we will be putting on spouting and a tank so you will be able to wash your selves and have water there . all we ask is that whoever goes there respects the place and doesnt leave rubbish and doesnt skid/drive on the camping area, lynn mentioned what would happen with a blunt knife if she catches people with trucks on the camping area and it wasnt good. there is alot more old tracks that are now drivable so hopefully we see more people/clubs out there, thanks to all involved. vaughan
