Got back to nicks at 10pm tonight, go heaps of work done, Mike broke an inner CV on his surf and Ron killed his jeep, cleared lots of slips (not the big one), rebuilt the brifge at mcfetridges crossing and cut back scrub in lots of places. My first trip out to Whanga Rd and its a great track, spent the night at the campground there last night and had dinner at the pub just down the road (very hospitalble).

Loads of pics and vids, will be uploaded when we get a chance. for all those that didn't turn up then thats your loss, but don't panic ....Reece and myself are planning another trip/working weekend at some stage.

Thanks to Central Zone FWD Assn for paying for the digger, and to Porter Hire for giving us a really cheap deal on the digger hire, I believe that the Whanga pub donated to this as well. I would thank all the other local clubs for helping but there was no sign of them at all.... great work guys ..... not .... this is a public road after all ....I expect to see you at the next one or else !!!!.

What an awesome trip. A huge thanks once again to the wonderful hospitality shown to us all by Nick & Rachael, who just open their home up to us to trash  . Thanks to all those who attended for your company and for making the trip what it was. Thanks also to Wilson, a good friend of Nick & Rachael's who allowed us to dump half a tonne of Whanga mud in his cow yard and hose our vehicles down with his high pressure wash hose, the first time in the middle of the night, and again today. And a big thanks again to Wilson for taking us all to his huge run off block and allowing us all to trash that as well. (If your reading this Wilson, there is a bottle of Jim Beam that Nick is going to drop off to you from us all, so enjoy  ).

And a top effort to crizpy, Tom & Mark who all made the effort to come up on Saturday night in time for tea with us at the pub, and on the piss at the camping grounds afterwards. And the same effort was made by Mike and his better half, who made a made a mad dash up first thing Sunday morning to spend the day with us all. We all got a lot of work done on the Saturday, and played on Sunday and today....................what a buzz.

Can't wait for the next trip up there.

Photos will follow in the next day or so.

Nice work gents. While you were all working hard I was up relaxing in Tauranga with the family... bugger it all!

What tyres have you got on your truck Reece? Wouldn't be a new purchase by any chance would it?

What a trip!! Thanks heaps to Nick and Rachel for putting up with as all again, it was great!!

Thanks to all that made the trip, it was AWESOME and the people that were there made it just great. Those that missed it, don't worry there will be another one in there soon, just need to work time and dates.

A special thanks goes out to Wilson, as granddad mentioned, he opened his milking yard up late at night for us to clean our trucks without even a whisper of pi$$ off, it's to late! He also let us play around on his run-off paddocks on Monday then clean our trucks once more! TOP BLOKE!!

I am sorting out the vid's and will upload them soon, the photo's are here, they are from the whole trip and in ramdon order for some reason? but anyways they are all there.

Thanks again to Rachel, Nick and Wilson for putting up with us out of towners and for the play in your "play ground" it was great!

WHAT A TRIP!

It was Mud-tastic

Got heap of work done on the saturday, cleared some slips and overhanging branches, built a bridge and got over over it. Big ups to to all the guys (and Gal) that turned up to do the work, pity the local clubs were too busy, maybe we'll see em next time we are up.

Sunday, play day in the whangas, crispy was there with mark and nut-####, pointed him at a couple of mud holes which he dutifully drove into! (good on ya mate  ), Mike turned up so show us the effect a front auto locka has on CV joints
and Ron showed us how strong his jeep was

note to Ron, Was very sorry to hear your's and Ricky's bad news Monday morning, a real tragedy and I hope she Is well soon.

back on the track

Sunday, Went to a mate of Nicks place (yes, he has one!!) Big thanks to Wilson for the day and the use of the hose to clean the truck. Had a tour of his farm and took in the amazing views played in some more mud, and dutifully broke the hilux

A quick trip to Wilsons shed and application of some Nissan parts (Wilson assured me it would go much better with em there  ) and we were back on the road and headin home

A great weekend!
