our club ,king country 4wd have been busy out at ngaroma this week end , some of them have been there since early sat morn and are still there now. thanks to dennis and lynn (cruz on here) who have been dealing with doc for ages regarding the area , they got the local doc guy out there for a meeting the other week to make some decisions on what we can do.so now there is 2 shelters at the new campsite, the camp site has been cleared and leveled with heaps of parking for tow wagons and a loading ramp just below. at this stage doc should supply a loo set up that we can set up out there.we are going to grass seed the area in front of the shelters so eventually everyone can pitch there tent on nice smooth grass, which we want to seperate from the parking area with logs or similar to keep it for camping on not skidding up, a bulldozer spent 11 hours up there over the last 2 days clearing the site ,tidying up the drains and reopening old tracks , ore donated $180 toward this from a trip wopass organised last year and the rest is being footed by dennis and lynn them selves and the club,we are applying for some funding from nz4wda so hopefully we can give them some money back.andy who drove the dozer and transported it out there ina 6 wheeler from his work is sorting out the truck costs until we here back from nz4wda. so a big thanks to all those and other members that gave time/materials , kc4wd have been made caretakers of the ngaroma block and we are putting a sign up with its new name of NGAROMA 4WD PARK and ther are little orange markers to follow to get there now, now all we need is for all of you buggers to get out ther and use it .with the shelters and clearing it is now nice to camp out there and will only get better as we finish more bits off , we will be putting on spouting and a tank so you will be able to wash your selves and have water there . all we ask is that whoever goes there respects the place and doesnt leave rubbish and doesnt skid/drive on the camping area, lynn mentioned what would happen with a blunt knife if she catches people with trucks on the camping area and it wasnt good. there is alot more old tracks that are now drivable so hopefully we see more people/clubs out there, thanks to all involved. vaughan

Well done to that King Country team, it looks good and will look better when the grass comes up. Don't forget to support this type of co-operative working with DOC, by writing a submission on the current Waikato CMS.

some more has been done ,in the gap between the 2 shelters there now is a wood shed, both roofs drain in to their own tanks , so there is water inside and outside , the area out thr front has been grass seeded so with a bit of rain the tanks will fill and the grass will grow. we even managed to put the shelters where there is cell phone reception ,we are back there on 12/13th of dec for our chrissy play / drink time, get out and use it people its there for everyone.

i will try to put a map up today, once on the right road there is little orange arrows to follow, as for access it is open to anyone and everyone, the more it gets used the better, all we ask is to keep the camp area tidy ,if you want insructions how to get there or info on the tracks pm cruz (dennis)on here.will be good to meet some more of you buggers out there.

Well its all go,we also harrowed the tent area & put logs around it so no one can drive on the tent area as spanky said all the plumming is done so will be good to have running water in the sinks.I've left a three burner gas barbque there all you have to take is a 9kg gas bottle unless some USELESS so so pinches it hope not. There is a tempory toilet there untill DOC builds us one,so enjoy the block & have fun its for everyone at anytime just remenber to remove ALL rubbish when you leave L8r Dennis

just out of intrest ngaroma 4x4 park has had 102 entries in the visitors book since our last working bee about a month ago, good shit i say, the more that it gets used we might be able to get some work done on the road, we generaly keep away for the next month just to give the hunters a go ,good to see with all the people going there nothing is getting trashed or damaged. Dennis and Lynn were given a award at our agm last night for there ongoing hard work with the place , remember it is for all to use ,will be good to get up there after the roar and thrash it again, cheers

Cruz wrote:Well went down to the Ngaroma block to check it out for next weekend when the Waikato club is coming down to use it.Some f#%k has trashed the camp site breaking beer bottles allover the camp, burnt the Baque table and seats as well as anything else that would burn or not including the Barbque plate off the gas cooker in a fire on the ground about two feet from the leantos ripped the steel truck rim fire out of the ground that was concreted in,skid allover the new grass pulled the logs out of the way at both ends to gain acess to the camping area,if I find the f#%ks that did this I would like to shake there hands so much there eyes will fall out onto the ground and then stand on them any info would be great as the wheel marks on the camp are MT MUD TYRES that are wide so looks like 4wders that also broke a cv they must have a two wheel motorbike and dogs that they tied up inside the leantos so they could crap in there aswell nice a thanks alot for taking your ROTTEN Rubbish away aswell, thats enough of a moan L8R Dennis
PS these so called humans need some part of there body cutting off so they cant breed from let the breed die out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You gotta be farking kidding!!!!!!

Why would someone do that??

I hope the word get's out in the community and a suitable payback is had

Our Club meeting is this Thursday night, so was going to run through the last minute game plan with the guy's before we head down on Friday evening. I will let them know that we will be spending a few hours on Saturday helping clean up after those fawkers

Anything in particular that got damaged that is needed there?? I can ask around, you never know what people have kicking around that could be chucked on the trailer with the truck..................
