Hi there

Well, I finally managed to register after playing around for quite some time!

I've done a fair bit of reading here, and finally decided to register and participate in a few of the discussions going on!

On the other hand, I'm certainly not new to off roading! My old man was one of the founding members of the Windy City Off Roaders in Wellington many many years ago, and I was attending rallys since before I could walk.

I currently have a '92 Hilux which I use day to day and also for putting the quad on the back for hunting and a Series IIa SWB Land Rover, which currently has a crack in the chassis and needs a fair bit of love unfortunately.

I'm blessed to have some of the best off roading areas right in my back yard, and I get to see the majority of it with both work and play. I command what I think would be the most expensive tow truck in New Zealand, and regularly crew probably the second most expensive tow truck too. One of the jobs I do is Armoured Vehicle Recovery, and I have been doing vehicle recovery for over 8 years now so I'm beginning to think I might have a small bit of knowledge on the subject.

Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to participating and learning while here on the board.

George

Hi Sig - You'll know me as Brett, and you know the old mans name now  Curious George is a name I've picked up while in the army.

Yeah, my primary trade is electronics, instruments, optics and radios but here in Waiouru I also run the armoured recovery section and help out with the lighter stuff also. Great times actually - I should really find some photos of some of the more interesting jobs we've done and post them up here.

Ha nice one - we had the welly jeep club up here for a trip through the training area - people I hadn't seen for ages like Trish and Don Morgan and Dave and Craig Mcginity - A good time had by all. Let us know next time you are up this way though and we'll put the kettle on.

Nah, it was done through the president of the pistol club here that I belong to - I just came along to provide a safety and recovery vehicle. Good times to get out and about in the training area using an army wagon though.
