Hi all!

CMD here very new to the forum. I've had a passion for landcruisers as long as i can remember, learnt how to drive in one and a Landcruiser ended up being my first car aswell!

I've owned that one for 5 years now and just recently the engine has been sarting to give me some trouble (fair enough it is older than i am). I have been looking at putting a holden V6 in (i have thought about a lexus V8 as well) not sure wich way i'll go but the holden is winning so far, as it is the everyday driver i am looking for reasonable economy aswell as 4x4 capibility. Any imput on what would work out the best, most reliable option would be really appreciated.

The other thing is that i don't really have the knowhow to do the conversion, if anyone can point me in the direction of someone (in Auckland) that knows how to and will do a proper job that would be also really very much appreciated.

howdy, i have a 89 prado like yours with a Lexus in it, , a lexus is pretty economical compared to a 350. and much more FUN

other common transplants are a 1kzte or a supra motor

When you say "economical" how many kms per liter do you get from the V8. The 2.4 is quite thirsty as its such a small engine lugging around a big body.
Yea all the poeple I have talked aren't to keen on enginereering cruisers either, but seeing that i'm not gonna do it myself, i hope i find someone thats up for the challenge!

Nick (Maybe pm him Madaz068) reckons he can get 600k out of his, not sure on mine yet? ask him a few questions...., I was getting 350-500k out of my 92 2lte one (yours has the 2Lt?)
