kaneys truck.

Post by kaney »

well, after sheiffeild event, the passenger door was a bit worse for wear. Then after a bit of an incident at the waimak when the right hand door, got bent back flush with the bonnet/front guard, the whole cab was nearly stuffed. Following that I got hold of a single cab for the right price, but then had the bright Idea that I would try and get it ready for the hanmer challenge, so got hold of a superwinch x9 off trademe. Then the mad rush happened to try get it on and the radiator remounted with the winch behind it at the back of the deck....Failure , we didnt make it so to make it more fun we dumped the body at the scappys gate on friday night before hanmer, then the week after hanmer I just happened to be convinced to buy a commie v6 (thanks Chopper 8) 8) ) so off came the supra, and on went the commie. In Amongst all of this have managed to dismantle the single cab and paint it....

So far this midweek-weekend I have shifted the water/radiator pipes, which needed to happen so the new exhaust could get done yesterday, picked up some hammerrite (spelling??) paint and painted the rear cage, bullbar, and rock sliders. Have also mounted the radiator in the front of the deck.

Well this is where im up to at the moment.......

Have got a tru hilux cab for this time, but still of the same vintage...(the last was a cut down surf)... came up looking reasonable good to.

And with the new motor it left me lots of room up the front to mount the winch rather then trying to squeeeeze the rope past a hot exhaust and warm water pipes, too have it mid-mounted.
Just have to shorten the water pipes to make everthing afit easy.
