I use atf every couple of oil changes. I just drain out half a liter of oil then top it up with atf and let the engine idle for a couple of minutes then drain it, works perfectly and is cheap. The engine flushes in a can are very good at cleaning the built up crap in engines, but they can clean to much by removing the carbon build up that helps seal the engine.
