413 shackle and spring lift

Post by Greenzuk »

HI there. I am new to four wheeling and have just purchased a 413 with a 1"shackle lift. I have also just come into posession of some 2" lifted springs. Is this a safe combination of lift? Is there any steering mods required? I am hoping to fit 31"tyres.

Cheers

I'm running that setup on my 413.

31x10.5 , 2 spring, 1 inch Shackle.
You will need to bash all the seams on the inner front guards. And I spaced the front bump stops down 20mm
You will need wide offset rims as well.

Bump steer will get a bit worse, but its bearable.
The problem with running 31's on stock drive train is gearing. you have to ride the clutch all the time, run out of power going up hill and over run going down.

30x9.5 would be a better choice I think. Better gearing, slightly more suspension travel. Less rub issues with the narrower tire.

Cheers for your help. Do you run a standard or longer length shock? New gearing in diffs would help out yes?

I run longer shocks, fit your new springs , take out the old shocks , flex the truck up and see what length you need.

Diff gears would definitely do the job, but available ratios are limited . I did transfer gears in mine.
