Hi !

I own a 93 soft top, Diesel Pajero . Lately, on a trip, the seal ( between the gear & engine ) on the engine side gave in & oil seeped onto the clutch. It smoked & smelled real bad for sometime. Though the truck is still moving, but, judders while going up steep climbs, when off roading.

What remedy do u suggest ? Will a 2.8 clutch fit onto the 2.5 Pajero? Will it be OK? Any other suggestions? Any bright ideas ? Please.

Cheers!

id say your up for a new clutch. your curent one sounds like its coated in oil. it may wear/burn off, but id look at replaceing. dont think 2.8 will fit.

Keep it standard that way you no it works and is reliable, id take gearbox out n replace seal and new clutch plate and presure plate. You can always try find a heavyer than standard presure plate or get one beefed up if you want it heavyer.
