Whats my 13-bt worth????

Its coming out , and doing a conversion ....... MEAN!!!!!
it has 150,000ks and runs great ,Not a single oil leak,sweeeet runner!! turbo is super quite ...
Can be sold with injector pump. powersteering pump.. although Ill probibly keep the gearbox..
I just want an Idea on a Realistic price I could sell it for on trademe.
Not too keen on $1 reserves hahah ..
and there isnt anything simular for sale at the mo that I can compare it too....

Dont forget when you stick that chev in your diesel gearbox will have the longer fine spline input shaft so you'll have to make sure you get the right bell housing to fit

ok ok ill spill the beans.. I have a 304 Holden v8 injected 5.0 conversion / link computer ..ready to go in

can't wait to see finished and going
mate of mine got his 13BT reconditioned, top to bottom, and a few other things to boot
whole exercise cost him bout $8000
have seen those motors go from between 2k-5k
they are worth good coin if ya hold out long enough

Woa That much , I just rang Just Cruisers to see if they had any 13bt's in stock.. They said "youd be lucky to find one" I asked what a rough selling Value is He said about $3,500-4000 . the majority of cruisers Ive seen have higher k's and seeping oil in places ect..
But i know mines a good one and tidy .. So Whats everyones oponion If I was to ask $3000.00 is this realistic and Might it actually sell. or should I ask More or less in your oponion??
I dont really want to spend 6months selling it .. but still need to recover a good price

usual rule of selling applies
alwys ask way more than you want
then you can lower price without hurting too much

Dont pull that donk out till you've got a buyer for it and see if you can get one of those leak down and compression tests or whatever they call them

Has the conversion already got the link with it?
GM have a stupidly simple computer if you had the original and factory loom. But if the deal is already set up to rum with a link, then that will be a better set up as you can play with the tuning etc a bit easier.

3k is a not an unrealistic price but for that money they will probably want a test drive i would assume unless you give them some sort of guarantee.the 13bt is a great motor

Yep..304 injected V8..Had one in a Calais a while ago..Nice engine..But so is a 13bt..with more boost and LPg !!! Ask Kiwimidi.. And shit loads more torque than a V8 !!...Sorry,,Just my 2c worth..

If anyone was going to bite , I thought it would be you Turoa !! do you want to see the Dyno Print outs ???? RPM for RPM a 3.4 turbo Diesel will out Torque any V8 exept maybe a Blowen Big Block...Fark ,, My pissy little 3.0 will out Torque most V8's !!

I heard a 13bt (rotary) has more torque than a V6 commy

13bt torque - 284.39N-m
13bt wank motor - 248nm but depends on if twin turbo or not.
304 - 395 Nm
a little further up the rev range (by about 1000rpm) though.
Horses for courses though. Diesels are suited to some peoples likings. Me, im a loud pedal man

Hourses for coarses I get Dude, Hp and rpm don't get traction..How do you get a V8 to get traction ? Take your foot off the loud pedal..!! Low rpm Diesel torque gets traction..Horses for coarses

I missed out and only had a G13B, close too your current set up
Peak power and torque at 6000 + rpm, funny that Tus got the same engine

As I said earler, Just my 2c worth.. I dont beleave its worth ripping out a good 3.4 turbo Diesel to put in a mtr that makes all its power and Torque at 5/6k ? when with a bit of a TWEAK you can get a good performing 4x4. What ever, Its not my $$$

anyway enough offtopic stuff.
crizpy as skid said 3k is not unrealistic but depends on how fast you want to sell. You can always start high and lower the price but you cant up the price if you discover it was to low.
but best you get cracking with that 8 swap. you'll love the extra power

not only a link .... I got the Whole shibang..bellhousing.. really good electric fan.. engine mounts .. wireing.. voltage reducers..exhaust .. brackets .. gauges had to drive up to turners in Tauranga to have a look and bid (im mad)
booked it on a transporter to get to Wellington..
been tipped on its side, dereged through insurance, drove it from Lower Hutt to my place .. very very very sweet runner with mint brakes /clutch gearbox... running gear.
starts beautiful when cold.. doesnt miss at all.. Not a single vapour of smoke..
oil pressure / compression / temperature /link ecu .have all been tested thanks to graham at Classic cars
was certed in 2002 so its a proven conversion ... and it sounds very beast..
jst on a side note .. Im not wrecking any parts as of yet as Ill be keeping most of the running gear and nik naks for likely future use .cos im sick of paying lotsa money for parts at wreckers.. thats my thoughts at the mo anyway.
springs/body-lift will be going in mine .. winch cable on mine (broke mine) . and heaps heaps more pland
6 weeks time itll be in mine

Good score, I did the same thing years ago with a wrecked 327 chev powered 40 series. all swaped into my 40. Cheepest way to do it when you have all the parts in one deal. And yes , selling your 13bt should cover the cost.
