chev v8 tacho problem
our chev has a HEI dizzy and a MSD ignition box thingy on it, apparently a tacho cannot be hooked up to is now because of the MSD box? can i get around this or is it end of?
Re: chev v8 tacho problem
it should still work. otherwise may need a tach adapter or something
Re: chev v8 tacho problem
You should be able to run the tacho of the timing signal. I have a CDI in mine and run the tacho straight from the cam/crank sensor. You just need to make sure it is a low voltage signal wire you are tapping into.
I've wired it this way as with the Link (POS) that I had to start with the tacho out put was low impedence and the tacho required high impedence so the ecu wouldn't run the tacho so I hard wired it. The impedence thing may have been the other way around. I now have an Autronic ecu and CDI but as the tacho was running fine I left it as i was due to the aint broke don't fix rule.

Re: chev v8 tacho problem
sounds too hard
it was only for this weekend so well let the sparky do it when he hooks the TPI all up
