Radaitor to fit sj413

Post by suzjoy »

My radaitors over heating, not boiling but gets up to 120C . Have a std 1300 radaitor. The motor is a 1600 G16b motor.
What bigger model radaitor will fit in the space? Using an electeic 12" fan. Plan to put another fan in as well. Got a price of $380 to put in a 3 core radaitor into my stock 2 core one. Can buy a std vitara radaitor for $280 which is a little longer and higher, but only 2 core. Mounts will need changed though. Any thoughts?

From the grape vine the biggest radiator that will fit in the front of a 413 is a honda accord 79-82ish model . They have the inlet and outlet pipes in the right place and size . It also has a temp switch in the base of it if you want to run fans . Should be able to get one of these really cheap . The bugger is they are only two core , but are a fair bit bigger than a 413 one , and much cheaper than a custom one .

i found a radiator out of an older L300 van(copper one) and had one of the hoses moved and it worked sweet as.
was running a g16b in my 413 and it never went up to half way on the gauge, also i used a electric fan from a 1500cc honda civic to the standard thermo switch in the radiator.....

hope this helps

To save time I've ( the morrinc=svlle radiator man) put a 3 core middle bit in the old tanks, and also added another 10" electric fan. So now have 2 electric fans. No fan on the water pump. Also use old window washer to spray water on to radator. Boys and their toys!! The themo switch on the raditor keeps blowing...so it now has a reply on the themo switch and a manual switch for deep water. NB:The 1600 themo switch is hoter than the 1300 moter themo switch. :D

Now that is a great idea. I've actually been considering it myself, after a hellish trip with a muddy radiator on which I had to stop every 10 mins and pour water over the outside of the radiator to stop it cooking off.
