Anyone know this snorkel

On TradeMe just now:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =195665622It looks a bit too far back on the fender to be suitable for an ABS XJ, but the seller says it suits ABS. I'm unsure, so does anyone know anything about the seller or the snorkel?
It clearly isn't a Safari and the only other one I know of is Airflow which it looks like from the pic and which is stated as not being suitable for ABS trucks. If it fits at that price it's a lot more attractive than a Safari, of course.
Actually, looking further I'm pretty sure it IS an Airflow as that looks like the logo on the sticker. Which means it doesn't fit with ABS, unless Go Jeep is wrong...

Ive got an airflow snorkel on my hilux...i wouldnt buy 1 again...quality of snorkel , template & fixing is crap...told me to drill holes in guard that you couldnt physically get to to put bolts in....get a diff brand.

Thanks guys.
The only alternative is Safari which I expect would come it at something like $250 more than this one, so I'd put up with a crap template. The problem is that my XJ has the ABS pump with all the associated brake lines where I suspect the snorkel comes through the fender, and definitely pretty close to the back of the airbox.
I guess you don't have ABS, Yeti?

There quality has got a hell of a lot better over the past year or so, but they did use to be absolutley rubbish with their templates and plastic.

Only thing I had to move on this was the window washer water reservior (with ABS), other than that it was sweet. It was an "Airflow" one purchased in Sept 06.

Thanks again guys.
Interesting how the homebrew one comes together, but I have to say I'm not a fan of the home-made look, and while I'm OK with stuff other people have made, things I make for myself have a habit of looking like I made them myself if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I completely forgot to take a picture of the relevant bit of my under-bonnet as I got sidetracked by another project (not involving the Jeep), but I'll do it tomorrow as I hope to be in the garage if I find time to change the oil in both diffs and the transmission.
Interesting that you have fitted an Airflow to an ABS Cherokee, XJ. I couldn't make up my mind from the pics I have seen of the fitting to a non-ABS version if it would work or not. Was it plenty clear of the ABS pump or was it a really tight fit? Is the gubbins the same in all XJs that have ABS?
I'm surprised Go-Jeep is so explicit that the Airflow won't fit an ABS petrol XJ if they do actually fit, but I'm happy if I can buy an Airflow rather than a Safari with the price difference.

it was tight for sure. Lost a bit of bark off the knuckles, but it aint truely yours unless youve spilt blood on it..... all CHRISTINE like!!!!
The one i had mentioned nothing about anything aside from it was for a 4L petrol. No discernment was made between ABs or not, the only thing it did mention was the washer reservior.

Thanks. I'll post up a pic of the relevant area of my XJ in a few minutes and maybe you can tell me if it looks like yours was? If it looks the same then I think I'll take the view that you made it fit so it can be done and buy one anyway, otherwise we'll know that there is more than one ABS fitment in an XJ and I'll start looking into the Safari option.
Good luck with the trans work Yeti. I thought you said you didn't spanner?

OK, I've taken pics but I seem to have an IT issue publishing them for some reason. Sun is shining and there are outside jobs to do so I'll look into it later.

Thanks; it does.
Your flexi pipe comes in pretty much right where my ABS pump sits. I'm really keen to hear from XJ if my under-bonnet looks like his and if so how he routed the flexi.

All bad news im afraid sunshine. your ABS is where my water reservior was. My ABS was [stretching me recollection a fair way back here] mounted on the otherside of the engine bay........ Ill see if i can find the engine layout of the Limited, cause it was different to that....

Bummer, but not entirely a surprise given the lack of clearance past my ABS kit.
Sooooo, any ARB dealers to target for a price on a Safari, and any not worth the cost of the call?
