Hey my names Dan and have recently purchased a 1985 Hilux Surf with the 2LT donk. Heres a bit of a low down on it :D . It's got extended shackles in the rear with gabriel shocks and aftermarket leafs and gabriels up front with the torsions wound up. And also got a snorkel that i gotta get round to fitting. It sits on 31x10.5 Savero AT's on steel rimmies and am lucky that it's got the LSD in the rear. Just wondering if anyone got any info on a winch bar to suit or should I be looking at going custom?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Contact Euan (badnuz) on here for a front bar (ARB). He looks after us and sometimes comes 4wding

Cheers for the pic bro that bar looks tuff as! Am geussing that any winch of similar size to a warn 9000 should bolt right up to it.

Welcome, you need to look for a bar you like the look of, get some photo's and then work out what you want, I have a removeable winch so it can be mounted to the front or back of the hilux depending on where the Nissan I need to pull out is  or need to use as a ground anchor

With the winch you want to mount it higher to keep it out of the mud and water it will give you less grief and less maintanance that way, if you are mounting it permamantley most will remote mount the control box under the bonet to protect the relays in the controller.

Before you go too far with the winch I am sure some of the setup Auckland guy's can show you what they did and you can then say I want that :) I need a camera to take photo's of mine (they don't like water)

Anyway have fun
