86 Rocky Spring re-set in Chch

Post by Steve... »

I'm pretty new to the 4wd scene, i have an 86 Daihatsu Rocky F-75, that I'm starting to do up, brought it for 1500 an its looks OK but i need to upgrade the suspension, its quite slack an it doesn't stop to well
was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advise on where to get the springs re-set an what sort of shocks to replace the original ones with
Cheers

im not sure where you could get your springs done up there, ask a suspension place they should know of someone. as for shocks, dont go to too larger diameter in the front as theres a little angled stopper on the front diff to do with the steering that stuffs and crushes the outer part of the shock.

im running munroe adventurers in my off roader and the seem pretty good for the price of around $200 a pair

OK you've done a s**t load more than i intend to do! that seems like a good fun lil truck, i want to keep mine road legal as i drive it to where i hunt! with those big tyres do they rub on the chassis, because i only have 30x9.5x15's on mine an it rubs on full lock, how can i put wider tyres on an stop the rubbing?

ive gone to the extremes of doing custom rims, just cut the centers out and had the rim flipped round and the center welded back in, also has a 5mm spacer welded to the rim as i had to change stud pattern back to 5 from six, as i couldnt get the 16'' rims in 5 stud the width i wanted.

Are Spacers warrantable?

Would a 20mm Spacer work for say 31x10.5x15, on the standard Rims
