Places to go in wellington??

Hi guys looking for some new places in welly to go play in some mud.

anyone know anywhere good? pm if you have to.

so far I know of the mungatuks, went and checked that out but gate was locked any way of getting in??

akatarawas but I havent gone to find out where to get in as I have no idea!

anyway of getting into moonshine either? and anywhere in makara good?

aoteoa is gone!!

theres whitby forest which is still accessable but gets boring quick.

and a very nice track in silverstream, pm me if you want more details on it.

Come out to rallywoods with us this weekend, we can all swap notes on new places etc. Curly has planned a good couple of days out for us, should be fun. You can also make some good contacts, increase your knowledge base etc

As far as I am aware there are only a couple of public areas for 4wding in the Wellington area.
These are Red Rocks on the South coast (except for Sundays when the gate is closed) and Odlins Road - which heads north from the Akatarawa Saddle on the road from Waikanae to Upper Hutt.

All other areas for 4wding are either on private land or have access controls - which usually means organised club trips.

Bubba's suggestion to hook up with a club and join their trips (like this weekends Rallywoods trip) is a good one.
