Hi
I have had to make up some tubular radiator pipes for the 4x4 and have just used exhaust tube . i was not going to bother treating them as i doubt it will last as long as the pipes anyway . But just wondering what the options would be to coat them and at what cost ?
Cheers
Chris
Coating steel radiator pipes ?

Dum, but i had always wondered if you could galv dip them???
Would't cost much for a couple of little pipes, but would it work

the inside of the tube will be fine if you run a nice mix of anti freeze mate but the outside you will need to spray with something, i would say degrease them to get rid of the tacky coating they put on it and hit with some zink paint. you could galv dip them but they wouldnt come back round

If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!

Zinc electroplate in either clear or gold pasivate is probably what the original factory pipes were finished in. Thats the same sort of finish you get on plated bolts. I'm pretty sure my zuk ones are gold zinc under the mud and oil.
Its pretty cheap to have done and would probably one cost $10 or $20 for a pipe or two. Look for electroplaters in the yellow pages - heaps of them around.
