Hey all at Off Road Express

My name is Josh and I live in Huntly

I work in Te Kauwhata as an electrician for Andrews Electrical ( almost electrician 1-3 months to sign books )

Found this site last week and really took my intrest as im now getn into the 4wd scene.

Got sick of my HQ which I know dosent sound good but havn to Register/WOF 2 vehicles is getn to be a hassel :?

Iv got a 1989 SWB Safari Manual which is stock standard apart from factory PTO winch & manual hubs on front, owned for 3 years, have plans now to do it up which is going to invovlve turbo kit ( as its N/A ) body lift, suspension lift n bigger tires oh yea and also roof chop like pigfarmer has done, as I think it would be great for hunting n nite shoots.

Iv done some basic 4wding but not a hell of alot, iv been waiting till my friends have got their 4wds before moding which they now have.

Iv got an idea on how I want to do it but any help on the order of attack and the things to watch out for would be much appreciated.

Iv got basic mechanical know how as iv worked around basic machinery since I was a kid but dont know it all, so wont pretend to & electrical probs I can sort.

I was want to post photos of my ute with this forum but dont know how yet so also maybe a little advice there would be great :D

Not alot else to say but hope to get into this alot more and really enjoy it and the people I meet.

I apologize if this spiel is abit long but I wanted to get it out

Welcome to the board Josh,
I have a friend that has added a turbo to his and he says it is a big improvement
He made up the new exhaust manifold himself then had it surface ground ( tight budget )
I will see if I can get some photos
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

welcome aboard nice truck. grab yourself some lift springs and a body lift through some new boots on and they are one hell of a serious offroad machine!! lsd diffs a good, solid as truck!! you will get stick for a nissan but thats mostly because everyone else is jealous, just remind them that most winch challenge trucks are nissan's for a reason!!!

as coxy says, rip them bumpers off a nip and a tuck here, decent bar work around the sides and these things are good for anything. have a look at the saf in this vid with the roof chop.

best of luck mate!!

Also iv got a question on certing of these extras, im sure that the susp lift springs an body chop have to be cert, unsure on body lift/turbo & tires.

Yea I heard abit of the chat surroundin saf's, good for a laugh tho i rekon.

Brought because of its rep/overall package and tough engine n driveline combo

Oh yea how do I post photos on a thread ???
