take the mount off the chassis, thats the two bolts on the side,
that way it will slide across to locate.

now that i think about it
sometimes the holes on the engine brackets are slotted try undoing the rubber mounts to see if they are like that on your engine if they are then bolt the rubber mounts to the brackets on the chassis and it should be a hole lot easier to drop into place then

In CHCHZookfan's defence, he has had a multitude of failures and issues with his recently bought trucks, and came on here as a last resort at my suggestion.

His trucks were already listed on T/Me before he came on site.

Good luck if you get back into it Sam, but next time try to get one of the CHCH boys who knows what he's about to check over the truck before you buy it.

Cheers, Leigh

cheers lniel, to be honest next time il just buy one thats a better runner, i brought 2 trucks on the asumption they were running an yea both got stuffed within a 3days period (1 didnt make it home), ive had this truck for around 8months sitting in my garage ive got 2 parents who dont like it an want it gone an i cant justify keeping it there lol. and if at first you dont fail try again? well let me tell you what id done so far. well for starters i took the engine apart, broken water pump an blown head, with rust all through the cyl's, so i thought oh well engines are cheap take it out chuck a new one in? sweet, got a new engine, putting it in myself for the first time ever managed to get it all sitting right except the gearbox was 1cm off lining up, now im doing this off my rickity garage with a single chain wrapped around it with a chain block holding it, i couldnt move the gearbox into place because i couldnt take my hand of the engines...2months later me an friend have another go an success we get it all in there an start bolting it up, cant get the last mount on an it sat there another month.. at this point i had totally taken the paint down to the metal an completely gutted the car an ressrayed it. now that takes alot of time an effort to sand down 3 layers of paint.car sits another month an have another go at the mounts tried taking it out an putting back in a few times to no success.. at this point i had just brought a nice blue truck it was sick an WAS running well until 3hours after i got it an the timing chain snapped, yippee lol, anyways after alot of failures an alot of hours spent for nothing i decide to cut my losses an start again! il be back oneday with a good simple runnin truck to build up from there.. it was unfortunate about the whole thing but i guess thats life isnt it lol. i did try i really really did try lol, but after 2 broken trucks an around 2500$ later(the price of 1 good running truck >.<) i think i learnt my lesson quite well an my lust for these beasts is definately still there but alas i gota take a break all this work an no play makes sams motivation go away :( .again il be back oneday.. still fond of zooks an would love to get one with a wof an some nice tyres an liftkit in the future when ive saved abita money an can find a nice good truck :) also fond of pajeros 2door but havent read up on them very much dunno what i think about mitsubishis ...

anyways thanks all cya in the future hopefully

p.s as much as id like to keep going its been a long year and alota financial bumps along the way prevented me from completeing stuff id like to complete so for now just gota restructure my life a wee bit work even harder an get some savings started, thanks liegh for the reccomendation il be reading the posts around here every so often and your motivational speech didnt go un noted but for now i think its just best if i take a wee break from it sorry if i dissapointed you was really nice that you cared enough to ring me an say that stuff

cheers

Hi Sam, my post was my warped sense of humour, I know there are two sides to every story. Sounds like you bought a pup or should that be pups. Remember mistakes are not mistakes they are learning curves, you are on the right track by getting some savings behind you, to many people start projects with insufficient funds and then never finish them. Suzuki's make an ideal 4wd vehicle to hone your build and driving skills. You will find that Pajeros can be very capable off road and can be modified to keep up with most good club vehicles. You have also arrived at a very friendly 4wd site with a lot of very knowledgeable and generous members who will be only to pleased to help you out.

SEE YOU OFFROAD SOON,

FITZY.

If you are worried about getting them back just loosen then all without taking them right out . you will get a fair amount of play then and can slowly do them back up once it all fits into place .

That is exactly what you will need to do. Remove the two bolts that hold the "W" plate onto the chassis, then bolt the engine mount and W plate onto the engine mount bracket, and then lower the whole lot into place. Would pay to do the same on the other side too.

Then you can wiggle the motor round and line up the W plate holes with a screwdriver till you can get the bolts in.

Are the engine mounts your using off the original motor or replacement?

I put a new engine in my 413 and struggled for ages trying to get the engine to line up properly.
Turned out that the W-plates and engine mounts off my replacement engine were slightly different and did not line up properly with the mounts. Bolted my original mounts to the engine and it went in sweet as.

Also looks to me like you have the W-plate upside down, but Ill have a look at my mates 410 later this arvo and check its not just a 410 thing.

There's nothing quite like the sound of a screaming, extracted 970cc f10a in the bush.
