Castlepoint / Riversdale overnight trip?

Looking at Andy C's book, Castlepoint beach and Riversdale Beach are listed as a place we can go....

Does anyone have any updated info on if we are still allowed access to the beach??, was thinking of an overnighter here?, maybe 2 seperate trips as these are 2 seperate locations???, ideally a fine weekend?, from what I can see its a fairly shinyish trip??

find someone in a wairarapa club and get access to some of the stations out that way



or you could get hold of someone in Hawkes Bay club and arrange for the trip I did a few years ago from Herbertville thru to Castlepoint over about 3 or 4 different stations

not really needing 4wd for it, but bloody awesome views etc etc etc, and if planned right you stay night before at herbertville motor camp and get the best feed in the world at the pub
