I am trying to find a snorkel for my rocky and can only seem to find one for a 1991 an mines a 1986 is there any difference in the engine in these models?

Airtec (or airflow) i think have a listing for a F7*/rocky/rugger

Yeah he only has one for a 1991?? not sure if they are the same across The 3 F7# models

when i got mine there was only one listing i think....isn't there someone in chch that makes custom steel snorkels??

not sure ive only ever noticed people with pvc pipe of the Airflow type ones

atlas steel do 3 inch 90 degree bends for about 12 dollars with two of them and a bit of pipe i made my own very cheaply and it works really well.

That's cheap for the bends rangi. I used 3" mandrel bent exhaust tube bends on the playdoh.




And Autobend in Chch will make a mandrel bend a steel one for you, if you give them a pattern.

yea i went to auto bend and got nothing but dick around, they seemed to have no interest in one off small cash sales so i found atlas who were really helpful and cheap as chips.

Do you have a pic of yours Rangi? might do something like yours but want to get a bit of an idea on how to do it!

mine would not be the one to copy, im a bit rough and a rubbish welder so there is silicone around the joins to be 100 percent sure its completley sealed, here's a couple of pictures, you'll notice i don't really care what it looks like just being a hack about truck. I'm sure you could do a nice tidy job with a snorkel hat etc if you want it to look good.

Interesting comments about Autobend. I haven't been there for about 7 years, but they used to be really good. Not worth the hassle if they are going to piss around. Where abouts is Atlas?

I've got some 3" stainless that I'm going to use, I already had it from another project so don't mind using it but I was never really keen on mild steel incase of surface rust on the inside of the pipe...

Thoughts? Am I just being paranoid?

a quick spray of softseal or lanolin down the pipe will stop most of that from forming and by the time it gets to the point that rust flakes are forming you will prob have outgrown/sold/upgraded your truck... besides the airfilter will catch anything that large before its sucked into your motor.

I made my oldFeroza's/current Pajero one's out of 65/80mm PVC pipe .. Why PVC over steel?? well the pvc wll shatter/pull apart long before it damages the guards if it gets hung up on something plus it costs less than $30 for 3m of pipe, a couple of bends and connectors, at the price if it gets wiped off once a year no big deal

course thats my personal preference and lots will disagree about using PVC over steel, however worked/works for me

Steve put me onto atlas steel its out in wigram (17 Hammersmith Drive Sockburn ) Since then i've been to there plant in welly where they make all there steel and stainless, its pretty impressive and they'll get you anything you want. Might just be me but i found them really helpful cutting steel to required lengths etc and good prices. I think auto bend are ok if your a big customer/have an account but not interested in small fries..

try bc direct in chch i got 1 for my mates 93 rugger they do the gibson airflow.

Well pigfmr and I fitted a airflow snork onto my 93 2.8td rugger, that cost $305, well what a pain in the arse, Would of been better off going to hardware store and buying some down pipe and elbows for a lot cheaper and prob a lot less hassle in my opinion!!!!!!!!!
