(If this isnt in the right place could some one place there for me please.)

Typical know all aucklanders ( I apologise to those in the know for 4wd safety)

I was at the beach this year and walking past the boat ramp. Any how a big boat comes in ( around a 22-25 footer). One of them runs up gets the landcruiser parks it on the hard sand disconnects the trailer and hand winches the boat on 3/4 of the way. Next second he puts a 30m strop on to the TOWBALL and dumps the clutch off up the beach towing the boat with him.
( by the way the strap is 14 ton breaking strain)
I go up to him and introduce my self and tell him that is the wrong way to tow off the towball and would be safer to tow off the tow bar. Any how I get a BIG chewing out ''What the hell do you know and yada yada yada.'' LOL

I just flinch at the thought of what would happened if the towball had sheared off.
A crowded boat ramp ( atleast 70 people in a hundred meter radius).
Stupidity Knows No Bounds.

( sorry for the length of the post)

Hot damn!!
Darwin woulda been looking mate, he didnt do anything that time, cos it woulda been an innercent standerby what copped the ball for towing.
Rest assured, however, he HAS taken note, and the tow-er WILL get his. Darwin rarely misses out.

Ever wondered why so many people die in boat accidents? Go to a nice boating beach one hot day and watch in horror.

We just spent 2 weeks camping beach front watching the circus. People trying to unload passengers onto the beach with a small swell rolling and using the motor to hold position. The obvious happened and a very lucky lady got 8 butterfly stiches and spent the remainder of her holiday on crutches. I say lucky as she still has her foot and the 2 year old she was holding when she jumped and the driver gunned it was un harmed.

2 days later idiots sking through the anchored boats and the not veryy confident skier had to let go or hit a anchored boat.

The sooner they licence the user the better I say.
