Im back... with a landy :D

Post by conads »

Hey all,
been a long time between visits but am back in the country and have a new project to soak up some time and money ... 8)

sold the surf for my travels... was keen to find it again or follow the same path as last time but found this bad boy by chance............

First mission is to get it back on the road, everythings solid and motor is ticking clean and smooth.
Has the cert'd LD28 Donk running on the LR 4 speed box, Definatly keen on a 5 speed conversion if someones done one or crossed one on their paths?? Then its wiring, suspension, diffs and the drivetrain.
Will keep the pics and posts going as progress goes on...........

Cheer!

ok found it

http://www.faireyoverdrive.com/ ... main page

you'll see the link on that page for the manual.

there are 2 brands of the unit that fit the landy (well that i can remember haha)
they aren't exactly the same but similar.

hey all,

bit of an update, but for the moment im missing a camera so pics will have to wait..

have stripped interior out of landy and all wiring is now in the skip, windows, doors, bonnet, window tracks and seals are all out. left with an empty shell thats still drivable
( a pain in the arse having no back rest on the drivers seat when you need half a ton of pressure to work the 70s pedals :D )

currently sanding back door frames and alu panels, top of drivers door will need replaced, everything else seems to be cosmetic so far...........

once everything on the body is tidy and primed, i will redo all wiring and make a new loom....

still in two minds about running gear... if i can find a replacement overdrive then i will stick to current set up ... otherwise if a donor vehicle arises with a 5pd, pto and leafs all round will go in that direction...

Will get those pics up asap for all you pic wh*&es, who depend on them to survive :D

On a side note installed a lift kit in my daily wag last night, 97 SWB prado... wasnt as daunting of a task as i imagined! so far happy with how its holding together!
