Hi There

Post by DesraeB »

Im Desrae from Wellington, heard about this forum through my workmates son..

I have a 1992 Isuzu Bighorn that I originally purchased as a hack to take my dogs out in.....
However, after driving over the Mangatapu Track in Nelson over christmas I am hooked on 4wd!

Can anyone suggest some tracks around the wellington/wairarapa area? I am a beginner so low key at the mo will be cool ;)

I am also quite keen to join a 4wd club.

Cheers

Watch out for Jerry and Taz and Abbo and Skid if he ever goes on a 4x4 trip as they will lead you a stray but in all seriousness the are heaps of welly boys and they will look after you

Welcome to the forum Desrae, we run quite a few trips around wellington through the forum, mostly overnighters at rallywoods which is a private block beside the akatauras and a few trips into the akataura forest which we run through kiwi4x4, they all cater for shiney and tougher vehicles... keep your eyes on the forum

Welcome aboard the board

A little bit of advice ....
Don't follow Taz01 with ya windows down
If someone offers ya a ride in their truck and it is short on windows think about how bad ya want a "mud bath"

Seriously though they are a great bunch
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

Thanks everyone for your posts, much appreciated :D

Definitely looking forward to having a bit of fun out in the mud

I have to work the next couple of weekends so Im quite gutted that I cant come along on the wainui coast trip, gonna try and make it to the training day though. Rallywood this weekend would have been good to go to as well, my 8 year old son has a motorbike so he would have had a blast too :)

What is the track out a red rocks like?

Have a good weekend
