just been in to Toyota to ask about mine....got a few blank looks for a few mins and then they couldn't find my chassis no on their computer, then they went out the back to look at their paperwork for a few mins.........apparantly the axles break when heavy towing or extreme offroading

and they said they had never seen any damaged over here but its based on overseas experience. I wonder it its anything to do with the crown and pinion problems with these diffs
Anyhew....its going in next week to have the rear axles replaced for free apparantly....but i'm waiting on a call back

Unfotnately there is still a large amount of vehicles that have not been remedied, yet. So it pays to check as the repair is for free.

Yup indy only, easy way to check or see if your had any recall work is you will have a yellow dot beside your model/frame tag, though thats if the dealer is doing it by the books

Well today was the day that the shiny was booked in for its axle recall, dropped it off in the morning, got a call about 2pm saying they were having trouble getting one of them out, anyway went back 4.30 and was told they didnt have any axle seals in stock which was holding them up putting it back together (you would have thought they would have had one set in stock with all these recalls

)
Got this fantastic loan vehicle in the meantime

Good Points:Its got 4 wheels
its not a nissan
its not a rav 4
better than walking
Bad Points:Its a POS
struggles to get over the wainui hill
radio doesn't work

Speaking of toyota, went in today to see the price of a 3VZ harmonic balancer, (mine the rubber behind it has perished and is doing a yoyo impression.) came back at $900, you can get a new engine for that !!! the window reg was just as expensive at $220 just the reg, nothing else...
Damn genuine parts !

The old man asked to do it him self and they would
not let him. so they did it split all the tie rod end boots.
so he took it back and They had to replaced all the rod ends.
