Free Nissan bits.. With catch.

Post by aotror »

Post repeated from the offtopic forum. SOrry if this is not kosha. Not sure where to put it, plus its's quite urgent. Hope you dont mind.

Hi guys, In a spot of bother.

Crashed my terrano on waimari beach, near new brighton and have to get it off the beach. No tow truck companies seem to be able to get it off that I have tried so far, The council dragged it closer to the dunes so it wont mess up the water but basically the car is now officially knackered. I have pics if you want to see it (large pics and not sure how to post them on here) but it sustained a muther of a head on impact with a solid concrete object and suprisingly didnt come off too good, a bit like me. Anyway I was wondering if there was anyone who would take it off the beach in inexchange for whatever they want from it. there re some bits that are pretty usefull, although I want to make it clear it took a pretty heavy blow so you'll have to assess if its worth the effort for you. engine is probablby pooed but there must be some good parts. It was in great order beforehand and well maintained, although the body was not what you'd call shiney. Tranny was good, has good towbar, windoiws, blue "beachtowell" pattern seats and trim and probably some rear suspension/diff etc bits that must be ok still.. turbo might be worth taking too, but havnt lifted the bonnet. There are probalby loads of bits in it if you know what you want, but good body panels aint one of them.

Anyway get back to me asap if you are interested. It's located right by one of those accesways to the beach so not far to drag it to the road

Thanks PR for you help with it. I believe its off the beach now.

I was probably doing about 70 or so when it hit. I am lucky to have a broken leg, or any legs at all really. I was wearing my seatbelt (and have a the mark on my chest to prove it) thats probably what saved me from a bit of a pummelling.
What did suprise me is how much crap came out from behind the dashboard.. I think it was the heater fan/air filter, radio and various other bits and pieces. Amazing none of those bits and pieces went straight through me. ditto for the steering column, which was just flapping around after i landed.

Anyway, I'll be looking for a new wagon now, so if anyone has anything or hears of anything I'm all ears. I want roughly the same kind of vehicle, not too biased what brand , as long as it hasn't been hammered off road too much and it's 100% mechanically, doesnt drink like a russian and is a good price. Maybe a double cab ute of some sort.. hilux or navara or even just another terrano(at least I know they can take a beating!). Would prefer something with mild mods.. snorkel and a bit of a lift to make it a bit easier offroad.

The insurance co have told me I cant break it up till they assess it so I will have to get back to you all after that. Not sure if its an LSD or not. Does the terrano have the same diff as patrols? I thought the patrols would be a lot heavier duty in that dept.

Jesus..thats one hell of a hit, glad your mostly ok tho if the same cant be said for the truck
Sorry to thread jack a little, so a terrano rear is the same as a patrol, and i guess a safari front diff, you could have an LSD in the front of your safari too, if one could find a terrano lsd around somewhere?
