challenger steering rack adjustment

Hi, can anyone help, I took a big hit in the front passenger side of my wagon, I have had a wheel alignment done and a few bits replaced but i have some slop in my steering rack. is this able to be adjusted out through shims or some kind of adjustment i dont know about, or am I up for a new sterring box???
any help is appreciated as have had 2 wheel alignments done and a mechanic look at it and they dont know. cheers

My Paj took quite a big hit and I have the same issue, I think it is twisted splines in the steering box. It is very vague on centre now, still tracks nicely but there is a bit of turn in the wheel before anything happens.....

yip, exactly the same issue. I spose the only way to fix it is new rack then? (second hand 1)

No idea to be honest as I haven't done anything with mine yet. A second hand one should be fine. They are a steering box and not the rack.
I think I will try and get a second hand one.

lol my Gen 1 Pajero does it too, "very" vague in the centre
