Rev tacho wiring?

Post by mroffroader »

Hi guys im helping a mate out at the moment we have a put a toyota 4age engine in his SJ410. He has been given a rev gauge that we want to wire in, it has 4 wires , red, green, white and black. There is one wire comming out from the loom that is labeled tacho (obvisouly to the guage from dizzy) What colour do we hook that up 2? and guessing red is positive and black is negitive as per standard? So whats the green and white for guys? possible one for background light on the guage?

Any help appreciated cheers

green will be to the dizzy and would assume white for lights (almost every guage i have put in have been green for signal). There should be a switch on back of it too, make sure it's on the correct cylinder setting.
