For Newbies in Auckland Area

Post by Windsurfer0206 »

Hey I just did the 4x4 training course out at woodhill just so i had the little piece of paper and see what new i could learn. was great fun Colin who runs it is great i really recommend doing the course if you havent done the training course somewhere else. and best thing is it is free and you get to run around the park for half a day free. Can take your 4x4 out there or if you are really new you can use a isuzu jimmy or the bease JEEP Rubicon with the works! looks like a spider going ver stuff. Thought i would let you all know about it. im taking my GF out there next weekend try and get her into the sport of getting muddy and breaking stuf  :D .

contact Colin 0800200227 if your keen to learn safty, trip planing, and have a ton of fun!! :D

just letting you all know about it
Chris
ps let him know Chris with the gold surf let you know about it

Mike used to run them for the polytech, but it cost you about $100. I am qualifiedto run them but can't be bothetred anymore. They still run them on the westcoast (throught the Tai Potuni poly tech as part of the SAR course and it cost $100 over two days. If you do it over there you do your practical on No name Road, which if you have never done is quite fun and challenging (the first time you do it that is). We used to run alot of training days vai this forum free of charge, but we got bad advice from Combined and ended up in a shit fight with the Waipara protection group, etc so we don't do it anymore either.

Yeah you can use any truck.
Search & Rescue up here laughed at me when I asked regarding the 4x4 safety course aye. Thought there would be some liability stuff as we are officially police employees when on a callout. Just gave up asking them about it.
