Ok so I got the wife a new shopping cart and its the Jeep Asia Rocsta that everyone was giving shit and it was a long way from christchurch so on friday after Bubbles and myself got on a flight from Christchurch to Rotoura we ended up in Auckland (bloody weather) and got bused to Rotoura so our plans for getting on the 8pm ferry went out the window so rebooked for 625pm on Saturday so sent Jerry a txt that we were not going to make the pub and that we needed a bed so the call went out. Mark and the Handbrake responded (BIG THANKS GUYS ) so we finally got to Roroura after a 4 hour bus trip to finally find the truck then fueled up and headed to wellington, so we turned up at Marks


to a crowd of Wellington guys and girls had a few drinks till 3am and hit the sack

got up at 8am so started to decide how to get Rockhounds 4 37" tyres to Picton so DaveM could pick them up and get them to christchurch in a couple of weeks but in the end didnt need them


had a look around Wellington went to TePapa then got on the ferry and headed south

On a brighter note it ran very well the whole journey from Rotoura to Christchurch was 908km and the total fuel consumption was 57.8 litres there were a couple of niggles The clutch and brakes will need replacing, we have a leaky seel on the transfercase but apart from that its a real good runner.

Oh and the stereo with only one speaker and would only get hillbilly music has gone now it has as of today a new JVC CD headunit 130w front and 350w rear speakers should be loud enough

It is a Rocksta, but not a Jeep licenced copy (those would be Mahindra and Mitsi). Completely different machines.

according to AMI insurance computer it is a licenced copy to Kia motors for them to make for the South Korean army

You would be surprised that the insurance companies rely on the "VTNZ" certifying agent at the time of import as to whatever they put in the "system". Insurance companies have no knowledge of these things themselves. Whatever the guy doing the certification for import puts on papers, it sticks. I know this from personal experience, LTSA and VTNZ are still confused between Jeep and Chrysler - apparently its a Jeep thing!! I made the mistake of trying to explain to them and in the end made a comment about where my tax dollars were being wasted (the response on the other side a bit luke warm).

Enjoy your toy, regardless of what its classified as by the ignorants. BTW, Kia was very closely associated with Ford (hence your Mazda diesel engine).

so you are saying if you got drunk one night and shagged a really ugly chick and possibly fathered a really ugly child you would disown it even though you haven't seen any evidence either way?, the Rocksta "Jeep" has a prior history as a licenced military vehicle it seems.....we haven't seen any documentation that proves it isn't a licenced copy either.... It still has the "Jeep" grill (6 bars not 7, 6 were used in the licensed versions), given this is a Jeep trademark I'm sure Jeep would have jumped on it if it was unlicenced?????

The first part of this joke sounds like a justification for your existence.

It may have been a licenced copy of a military vehicle.... but it certainly wasnt anything to do with a Jeep.

The only licenced versions were the mahindra and the mitsi. The hotchkiss factory in France also produced Willys due to the need to keep production going.

When you say 6 BARS do you mean BARS or SLOTS? Either way your logic is incorrect. 6 bars means 7 slots.....The Mitsi J-54 had 7 slots in the grill, the mahindra version had 7 slots in the grill, as did the french ones. The Cj's had 7 slots, the YJs and TJs also had 7, and even the latest concept versions have 7. (or if your still confused.... the licenced producted and the originals had 6 BARS/7 SLOTS..... the true original Ford and Willys had 9 slots too, just for clarity)

The rocksta has how may bars and how many slots Jerry..... hmmm..... it has 5 bars and 6 slots....... therefore nothing to do with the trademark as you claim.

Whatsmore, you didnt bother to comment on the other thread once I had highlighted only some of the differences and even added photos for your reference to show how incorrect you are. You instead swerve over to this thread and try to tout the same fantastical rubbish based on no logic or proof whatsoever.
