Who's got info or a spare one of these?

Post by lneil »

It's a vacuum fitting from the inlet manifold of an auto Escudo 8-valve TBi. Does anyone have one, or know if its available anywhere? I broke the pipe connection off and its too small to glue.

It fits in this threaded boss on the rear of the inlet manifold:

and connects to this 'thing' on the firewall:

I have no idea if its a specific Suzuki part or whether it is a generally used aftermarket item.

While I'm asking questions, does anyone know exactly what it does? The vacuum pipe connects to a strange flat little canister-type thing mounted on the firewall.

If desperate try drilling out the bits just enough to slip a CRC spray can straw into them and then glue and seal up.
Has worked a treat when done a whoops at work and nothing been available. The 5min araldite glue (2 part mix) prob be best stuff to use.

At a very rough guess, it looks like a MAP sensor. I'm assuming the realy that's underneath it is aftermarket, mounted on the same bolt...

So, if it was, then it'd be a reasonably simple thing to get a secondhand one. Got any wreckers handy? take a nosey around, see if you can find something similar on another car.

(or *cough* find a vitara on the side of the road and *cough* pop the bonnet... *cough*)

Thanks.

The wreckers who have 'scud bits down here refused to take it out of the manifold, and I refused to buy a complete inlet manifold to get one little vacuum outlet.

Rotazuk's found me a part number so hopefully I'll be able to get one out of Suzuki tomorrow, fingers crossed.
