Hi All,
dumb question but I need to get some wheel nuts that will go on standard rims for the surf. Anyone know where the best place(cheapest naturally) is to get some?

We got a set from Bryant Road 4x4 dismantlers or what ever their called, here in Hamilton for Dwaynes surf when we did what your doing with the lux rims and SAT's. Think they cost about $20 for 24 nuts.
Thats the place that sold him the front diff for $250.
So try the wreckers around wellington!!!!

if you go into any wrecker and just walk around looking at the ground you will collect your wheel nuts for free as they are discarded by the dismantelers and just lying all over the ground, most of the jappas use the same size and thread which is very handy....except honda.
should have said mate i could have hooked you up and sent them with the rims...

sweet, nice to know some people are scoring deals. will be my turn one day.

although tyres generally are their best within 15 to 30% worn and then they loose their edge.

Theres a wheel nut black hole in my shed. I've wrecked about 5 surfs, and 2 double cabs and own a hilux and a mu... yesterday I was looking around to find some to bolt the front tyres back to the MU (not MY tyres, mind... RIK still has MY tyres

- I've created a monster

)... I managed to find enough to do the job with one left over... and I still need to find 4 more just to bolt the back tyres on properly...
By my estimation I should have somewhere close to
216 wheel nuts lying about somewhere... and I struggled to find enough to do one vehicle...

sigh...
Oh, and as a side note, I DID drive the MU out of the shed again yesterday... first time since before I started Conans coonversion... just about done... few more days... hmmm... wonder if I'll be allowed to go down to the shed on Christmas morning ?
Steve
PS: Good to hear you're getting some good rubber Matt... the way you drive the poor old truck you should be virtually unstoppable with some real tread on the wheels

Although I wanna be there to see the look on your other halfs face as you suddenly get twice as many places as you did before

- although I don't wanna have to be in the truck to HEAR it

I remember the first time I took my wife out with my new Simexes - ah, the memories... the fun... the burst eardrum...

OMG
Steve the Mu moved !!!
Does that mean you'll be hauling up Coleridge with the rest of us ??
"No its not tested yet" excuses, remember Grunters is still only a chassis with some wheels on it and hes gonna be ready to roll !!

I'm missing one, anychance I can grab one of those spare ones steve before the 28th. would be a good excuse to try the lockers out on the waimak as well.
Really not looking forward to installing this snorkel. The more I look at the guard the more I think a mission it is going to be

Sure thing... although the spares are from the Hilux... which means I don't have three spares, I'm actually missing 21

But they are here somewhere.
Where are you? Welly again or still here? I'll be at the shed on Monday I think...
