What`s a good brand of axle stands?

Garage talk. Anything from mounting a winch to water proofing the electrics.

I use the Powerbuilt 6 tonne ones from Repco... I've got 4 which are always in use somewhere and are tall enough to hold most trucks under their chassis, and I've got 4 of the smaller cheapo 3 tonne ones which are too short for lifted trucks unless they are under the axles.

Never broken any of them, never had any problems with them. I would love a set of the 12 tonne ones which are really tall, but they are over $300/pair

Thanx for the advice Steve. Those 12 tonners look the go.When getting a set of stands,is it better to get 2 pairs?Or is one pair of stands OK for most jobs?

Go the 6 tonners, they go higher than most jacks and they can hold up a bus, i have a pair of the 6's and a pair of the 3's, both powerbuilt, deens on how much you want to hold up and how high you wanna hold it,
But thats just my 2cents worth!! :D

Yeah, I'd say go the 6's... They are less than $100/pair... Even a safari weighs less than half that, and you generally use two together so they should be fine.

How many? Depends on what you are doing... want to take both axles out at the same time? Get 4... but unless you are certifiably mad like me, you won't need to do that very often :)

Wooo! Got some 12 Tonners... some HUGE-ass 12 tonners... in fact, I likede them so much, I bought the company! :D Well, maybe not quite, but I bought a few sets to add to my 4WD parts... $150/pair for very big 12-tonne rated axle stands... if anyone wants a set let me know... I've listed them in the dealer adds on the front page.

Perfect accessory for the 4WDer who has everything :)
