We didn't have a traffic problem, but it was definatly like traveling on a motorway!!!!!
Up to the Tairua river was a breeze. The old man reckoned he had only ever seen the track in that sorta condition once, and that was over 15 years ago

Me and Dwayne started on the loop track from the river end, but decided that we would leave that for another day.
Maybe that could be our mission in a weekend or so's time.............

well theres me and pete so far.....
im gonna go out on a limb here and sugest that maybe some of the Auckland contingent may want to come as its not that far,im not gonna be goin crazy and i doubt that pete will be either so it should be a trip that anyone keen can come allong on,it wont be a nana day but not nuts...just fun. the main track sounds like its in VERY good condition thanks to all the people that have done work on it, im picking that we may have a look round the loop track to see what sort of shape thats in.
so if your interested in comming you will need tow hooks and a snatch strap and reasonable tyres an advantage.an ability to drive would be good also

It will be an awesome day out, the track is in good cond, the loop is still as challenging as ever so we are just going with the hopefull intent of getting through, but the chances are not high.
If people are not keen for to much of a challenge, up to the tairua river and back is a good day out!!!!!

i managed to con my dad into comming in his VX cruiser with road tyres on it 
so hes gonna have some fun.... but hes in good company so we will look after him.

Oh well - looks like I'll be spending the day working on the property then - I know I'll hire a digger & do some work with that - that'll make me feel better.

so go thru paeroa and head to thames.take maratoto rd turnoff and follow it untill you get to huia rd on the left,i think its called huia rd anyway..... it has a sign saying "wires track" from memory anyway.
will be fueling up at paeroa at 9am and plan to be hitting the track at 10am so you will need to be there before that to get set up and ready, i will be there about 9:30 to do my tyre change

went clockwise around the loop but not the all the way,just went down to the river and had lunch there then came back up the same way we went in.was good,nobody broke anything and we all had fun
