09 DUCK SHOOTING

Not long till opening weekend, anyone got any stories ??, any new shotguns, decoys any new toys,??????. I had a look at a new Remington 1187 20g, still undersided will probably stick with the old 1100 and Steel Shot  . I picked up some new decoys the other day to replace what we lost last year, back up to 200 again. I brought a new Hammond duck caller to replace my old favorit that I broke and it doesn't sound any thing like my old one still needs a little tuning, probably needs a bit of Rum through it before it will sound right   . I went to a Sporting Clay shoot on Sunday for a practice and i think I had better go to a few more before May, good job they had some drawn prizes because I wouldn't have won anything on my scores. We are off to the lake ( Ellesmere ) this weekend to check the Mai Mai and Hut ready for the Opening.

LET'S HEAR FROM YOU,

FITZY.

Every year i head down south to the family farm which is fantastic. This year i have just bought my first house and might have to stay in town so am looking for area's to shoot in the canterbury area. Does any one have any suggestions/empty ponds/stubble paddocks.
I might still make it down south because its the best weekend of the year and im not sure if i have ever not filled my limit for the day.

The little ejector mechanism thingy on the stoegers can pop out on their own pretty easy.Only like a half a turn of thread of that little bolt on the backside of the reciever. I re-tapped mine and used a bigger bolt...all good now. Just thought I'd say it now before it does it to you in the field.
Otherwise a wicked gun.
MAny people on here hunt canada geese??

Used to a few years back.

I use a square of green canvas all dirty and no longer waterproof... GRRR and a large frond of teatree to break up the outline. works on Parrys too, just slither along the ground through the mud etc and knick they heads off with the .22

I wouldn't trust either of these offers by these two jokers, I seriously suspect their motives.
Who would trust a joker with a new garage anyway? The other one has delusions of range rover too and that means his "kind" offer is definitely suss!!!

Ah well, cant be right all the time!!

When I lived in Tokoroa, the Quail season used to last until end of August. We used ti have a great time throwing handgrenades into the blackberry to flush the birds. NO!! NOT real grenades, homemade bangs and leftover fireworks. Works a treat.

The canvas and branch of teatree works even on Parries!! try it sometime.

I sell them so i see what gets returned and what doesn't, prob a bit better than just owning one. opinions vary on them and it is the main reason they ever need repairing. Just an observation.
