glow plugs

Hey guys can anyone help me where's the best place to get glow plugs from in welly have rung a few places and the best price was $22+gst each. If any one knows of a cheaper price please let me know.

I got some used one here that work which might fit your pos, can you find out wot voltage etc they need to be or a part no .... othrwise see if Stinky can get them in for ya

GT 216 DR 7v is what's on the one i took out this afternoon.

i take it they're out of your old prado which would be funny cause they'd be from almost the same motor.

They were out of the Rugger, wrong voltage for the 2.8 in it

any good diesel shop should test em for free, and then you only replace the ones that are knackered. $25 a plug incl gst isnt bad

ah then they definiately wouldn't work in the blizzy....spoke to it's origional owner today and found out that it's the old (non hand grenade) 2l motor with the turbo added later and the intercooler off an older supra and was running 12psi when he had it.......................................

hadn't thought about getting them tested (truck not starting at all so may just get 4 new ones and then get the old ones tested to keep as spares. (pain in the arse to get off tho thanks to said top mount intercooler)

Real easy to test. Using jump leads place the earth round the threaded part of glowplug and put positive to pin on top of glowplug and if they "glow" after about 5-10 secs they're good if not then you need new ones

yeah that's where i ended up getting them from had rung around and found the place that had them for $22 + gst but when i went round there this morning he was closed so thought bugger it and went to bnt and they charged me the same price so was rapt. now just got to fit the buggers...

the way my engine bay is set out makes changing them a pain so decided to just change the whole lot, so will do that test once i have them all swapped and then i can have some spares from the good ones
