Am looking at the Kumho KL71 tyre for a 1991 vx landcruiser, just wondering if anyone can recommend which of the above sizes to go for. Currently has 15" rims, am thinking of going to 16" rims as want to upgrade the brakes to the larger size disk and calipers at some stage..
Factory allow rims im assuming are 15*7? So I guess to run the above tyres i would have to go to an 8" rim either way (15 or 16")
Anyone have any rims for sale?
Cheers.

305/70 x16 and 285/75 x 16 are both pretty much the same overall size. (just the side wall that is a different height), but are pretty much 33" in o/all diameter.
Easier to find a 285/75 than the other one if needed (that is the size I run on my 90 series Prado

i run 305/70 16 bfg all terrains on my vx and i swear by them .look good handle well and last well .only bad point is initial cost is a bit dear BUT we use our vx every day plus as a play truck and they have never let me down.mine are about 1/3 worn and done about 40-50 odd k on them in 2 years .will quite happily buy them again

depends on the use you want them for
as Sig has said the BFGs are awesome tyres and they will last forever, same as the coopers, but both of these are pricey.
if you want a mud/street tyre, then I can highly recommend the Nankang Mudstar.
I run 33s on my VX and swear by them, they are lasting exceptionally well and still look nearly new after 30000kms. Took them for a play into clay based tracks on the weekend and again the tyres were awesome.
I also have no issues with the road handling of them and have thrown my VX into winding roads at excessive speeds with great results
HIGHLY RECOMMEND - NANKANG MUDSTARS
