Trails around the Auckland area.

Post by Rych »

Hi all, I'm keen to know where abouts in the Auckland area, west and north, where I can take the truck. Are there any public tracks, dirt / mud / bogs etc that are freely available to go for a bit of a spin?

No ideas? Is there like a site that has a list or anything?

Underneath the banner above there is the NZ 4WD Tracks page but at the moment that has only been filled with Wellington and South Island tracks.

Auckland wise there isn't much without actually venturing outside of AKL, too many greenies.

The best option would be Jeep 4WD Park in Woodhill

Of course, if your truck is flash enough you can attack the grueling 'Remuera Road' track or the daunting 'Parnell Rise' - yes, you can get lattes here ;)

Theres woodhill forest up your way, never been there but its a private block and I think access costs around 50 bucks or something like that and I think theres a beach in the Rodney district that you can use (might be the same place as woodhill?)

You might be better to join a club up that way to get access to places?
