OK, the situation!
I have a series 2 VN motor (the fark up)
I'm wiring it up with a series 2 VR loom and computer as I have the VR electronic kickdown auto box (No other option really as I bought this first)
I have 99% of the plugs plugged back in bar 2...
One is a 3 pin plug located in the loom by the oil pressure and oil pressure switch? I believe it to possibly be a knock sensor? It has a brown wire, a white wire with a red tracer and a white wire with a black tracer. What is this plug for (I cannot find where it plugs into) and on the VN loom it doesn't have this plug at all. Will I be able to run it without this?
The second is the 02 sensor. The VN headers never had one, but they do have a hole with a bung in them to take one. I have got a 02 sensor but it has a different plug at wiring colours, possibly because the sensor I have may be off a even later model motor (possibly ecotec). Do I really need the 02 sensor lol. I no it could run rich.....as long as it doesn't run lean I don't really care i'm not going for fuel economy with this bush basher beast

...I have been told it will start and run without it but the person who told me was also unsure of the long term consequence...
HELP

if your still stuck later in the week, i'll get hold of a mate who's street stock has series 2 motor and series 1 box... pretty certain he has said that the whole motor only needs 6 wires total to run... and i know he doesnt have an O2 sensor

is it a triangular plug, if so then it is the oil pressure/fuel pump interlock switch, oil presure as in idiot light and no oil pressure no contious fuel pump, if pump run contious now then not needed, if pump runs for 3 secs then shuts off then it will be needed i think. unless the earlier systems sense crank turning for fuel control.

if the oxy sensor is not there a fault will setup in the computer and flash out as such, from memory the motor goes to a default value and relies on the TPS ,MAP sensor for fuel and works off calcs, i think it will affect fuel economy and mid range cruising.

Its not triangular, its flat....and the VN loom doesnt have it in it

red/black is the wire you hook the security bypass into.
white/black is the enable flash out of codes

apparently the knock sensor plug isnt a plug as such or there isn't a sockect for it to go into. i'll ask the dude what he meant by that.. he text me back about it yesterday.
He does run the O2 sensor as he needed the computer to feed more gas than it was, i'd probably get an exhaust shop to blaze one in for you. will take a whole 10 mins..
