As we all know getting small holes in tubes is a pain. All the punctures Ive had have been caused by a bit of dirt getting in the rim and making a tiny hole. Ive been looking at those tyre sealing products you pump into the tube and it seals small holes as they occur. Its not cheap, a 20ltr drum with special pump is around $300 but will do about 12 4x4 tyres. Has anyone tried this stuff?

We used a similar product in all our tyres on a TRX500 tubeless Quad Bike in the South Taranaki area for work. Boxthorn country and flat tyres were common place till we pumped this stuff into the tyres. Worked well but real messy if you have to work on the tyres at any stage. Also was no good unless we were able to locate the puncture and pull the thorn or puncture causing object out of the tyre. Worked on the basis of movement of the tyre going around and around causing friction in the puncture hole causing heat causing sealing... (or so I recall as described by the bike repair shop) is this the same principle to the product you describe?

Yeah sounds the same, it stays as a liquid inside the tyre. They said if it was an extrnal object, nail or whatever obviously you have to pull it out and the stuff seals the hole. All of the punctures Ive had have been internal, small hole in tube, so if it works it would be great not having to take the tyre apart every time the tube gets a hole.

Only time I have ever tried that sort of stuff was on motorbikes and never had great success. The sealant would be good, but it is also a good idea to have some tubeless valve stems on hand. Just break the bead with you hilift jack and chuck one of these in. Works good if you have chaffed a whole in your tube like you said or ripped a tube'd valve stem out.
Yeah, stays as a liquid, it comes with a special pump and a chart to put in a measured amount. They say it doesnt effect wheel balance as its not like a weight stuck in one spot.
