good wellington radiator place?

Garage talk. Anything from mounting a winch to water proofing the electrics.

two different quotes. 180+gst from petone and 260+gst from abel for same job. Replacement of bottom tank with radiator out. Opting for the cheaper option and will see how it goes.

nope just removing the transmission cooler out of the bottom of the radiator tank. That way there is no restriction and oil isnt heating the radiator fluid before it hits the engine. common cause for surfs overheating.

Cheers for the contacts and once I get the surf back on the road will be keen to hit some tracks around wellington ..... if there are any here that is

Tons of tracks around Wellington. Akatarawa Forest is full of them but most of it is not open to general public access. You will need to join one of the several 4x4 clubs around the capital on their many organised trips in there. Most clubs will take out of town visitors on their harder trips if you can prove you belong to another club and have the necessary expertise and equipment. Just ask some local 4x4 owners or one of the 4x4 workshops for info. You won't be disappointed with the action available.
