Hey guys...another question. has any body removed the swaybars from the trucks??? and if soo how do they handle on the open road? I know you can diconnect the rear 1 with the leaver under the dash...but for some reason mine wont disengage, but if the handling isnt effected to much then I was considering removing it completely. A friend has removed his front 1 and it seems fine. I just dont want to sacrafise handling for articulation if the triuck is going to be a whale when away on big trips..(Yeah i know yopu toyota boys...your all thinking you dont have to remove the sway bar to make them a whale!! hahahaha ) just for the record....the safari rescued a toyota from certain death today when he got buried in a ditch with water in the cab up to the dash hahaha...just jealous it wasnt me that got to pull him out...sorry Art!!

mine had no front when i got it, broke the rear release pulled the whole thing , abit more roll but nothing for concern. I'm happy with out any on

sweet, cheers for that guys. I think the sway bars proberly effect diff trucks differently...specially if they are IFS, but you guys have confirmed what I thought, and I will whip em off! cheers

Yeah I took my front one of and it still drives great. Disconnecting the back one dosen't seam to make much difference but i do have it locked when towing. I think the biggest influencing factor is how much the truck has been lifted. Mine has 50mm spring and 25mm body lift on 33" BFG's and it drives really well.

yeah...I have 50mm suspension lift, does any1 else have a lot of spring noise when navigating ruts etc....I have checked to make sure the springs are all seated correctly and they are... my mate has a standard Safari and he has the same prob. Is this just a Safari thing or I have got something wrong? thanks

No spring noise with mine.
Between the top of the coil and the spring seat is a rubber pad. It can appear OK but the coil can cut through the pad and be contacting the spring seat. Metal to metal never sounds very good.

just be careful my wof guy told me to put my sway bar back as the mounts are there for it

Seems its just wof guys discretion. My guy said if the bar is fitted it has to be done properly with good cond bushes etc etc. He failed a friend cos one of the bolts had fell out but was still attached yet passes me with no swaybar at all. Insurance might have a winge if you have an accident without it on??

might pay for me to get the rear ones disengager to work then...will save probs at wof time!!! thanks for that...I diddnt think that sway bars were even part of the wof inspection...man they are soo inconsistant... my mate has beem taken his truck to the same wof place for years...then last wof they told him the motor was a petrol and it was licenced as a diesil. and he had to get it certed....which is fair enufff...but 5 years??? Will check rubber boot tonight...maybe they took it out when they lifted it. (previous owner) as they put a 12v winch in a 24 v truck...sooo nothing would suprise me.

thanks muzza... you were right... the boot on the passengers side rear has gone. will have to try and find 1... do you know if they make after market ones you can buy or do you have to goto nisssan?

just lave sway bar in but undo the ball joint thats all i did to mine come wof time put it back together
