ROTORUA Winch Challenge 09
Posted: Mon May 25, 2009 11:11 pm
Hi All recieved this today ,have posted it here in case prospective competitors are not on the mailing list ,if the past events are anything to go by it will be a bloody good event
Hi all!
First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS to Aaron Smythe and Doug Cooper for winning the Challenge Class and Gene Batty and Justin Williams for winning the Club Class at the Northland Winch Challenge! Congratulations also to all the competitors who made it to the Northland event and gave the lads a good run for their money. Lets see how the Rotorua boys perform at their up and coming home event, the RWC09 ..... (no pressure).
That's right, the RWC09 IS a go! I apologise for the time it has taken to send another email to you all. This was namely due to awaiting land access confirmation to officially announce. The entity we were dealing with were happy to confirm numerous issues verbally, however when it came to putting it in writing, the fun began ..... (we were dealing with a Government Department). As a result, at the end of last week I approached the office responsible for the famous Mamakus where previous events have been held. We are in the process of intensive planning, having held a weekend of recces' in the Mamakus to put together a combination of stages that have been used over the years.
There will be NO SLASH OR CUT OVER incorporated in this years event! Many sighs of relief
We are considering holding Saturdays AND Sundays racing in the Mamakus, but will advise in due course. Regardless, there will be an event, it will be HARD and IT WILL BE COLD! There was snow in the forest in weekend
Next Wednesday is the scheduled Geyserland 4WD Club meeting, after which we will hold a RWC09 Committee meeting, so if there are any suggestions or concerns you would like raised, please feel free to email or call me and I will try get a response to you in a timely manner.
I'm desperately working on having the Demon girls, (yeah ..... you know the ones), to make an appearance at the RWC09, but if this venture is a failed result, we can substitute with "Euan" from A*B romp around in his bikini making snow angels.
Please feel free to distribute this email to anyone who is not on the mailing list that is interested in this event.
Kindest regards,
Cam
