Hi guys im about to pull the motor out of one TD2.7 and put it into another my question is.
Am i better off pulling the motor tranny and transfercase out as one or just pull the motor on its own.
Ive done the gearbox on its own n what a prick of a job.
Are there any traps i should be looking for or is it just the normal type motor job the motor im pulling is out of my 5 on the floor and im putting it into an auto which ive just got hold of the auto has a cooked motor.
I realise i will have to fit flex plate etc to get it to fit the auto.
So i will have parts up for sale which i will list or if anyone wants motor patrs let me know first gets it.

Just pull the motor. From memory you cant get the whole lot out in one peice without pulling all the front grill and supports etc out. Take the engine mounts out (one all the bits are off) and lower the engine a bit to gain better access to the top bell housing bolts.

I've just pulled a VG30 and we had to drop the gearbox o get it out. Auto was OK as you could undo torque convertor but with the manual the clutch got in the way and couldn't lift it out.
Don't know if that applies to the TD27 as well though.
