chinese air lockers for isuzus

Post by mudgripz »

Have been running one of these rear lockers for 4-5 months now and tested them out over a dozen tracks in my 88 bighorn with 4" lift and 33s.

Won't repeat all the ifo (see thread in drivetrain/suspension section), but wanted to mention for isuzu owners there is a chap in chch who has imported a few of these and is offering the locker complete with switches and compressor for near cost price at about $1100 all up. Normal price about $1599. He will also fit them into your diffhead, saving a further $350. Hell of a deal.

Happy to recommend them - unit works very effectively and zero issues to date.

Send me a PM if interested and I'll get hold of this guy.

Only rear at this stage I think.

I had an aussie locker in front of last isuzu which hugely increased performance, but with ifs trucks its certainly a plus to have selectable locker in front. Keep continual locker pressure off cvs.

Another option is to put lsd in front diff - by finding a rear diff containing one out of the earlier model 2.3 isuzus. Their rear diffs from memory are the same as the front diffs on the 2.8s, so might fit also on 3.1 - if ratio same.
