My cruiser has a 8" high pinion axel fitted from Prado Lj71 im guessing but supposed to have same gear as a hilux, the previous owners must of got a good deal On the axel as It has electric locker fitted ..
My cv has been clicking a little bit of a while now and Im over due to fit a replacement ..
Im after preferably a little Stronger than factory one and affordable if possible..
Longfields are out of the budget at the moment..
just want a quality standard one

so anyone got any ideas...
what make/brand
who to talk to
Where from and how much ect..

thanks

If you are willing to set too on the inside of the housing, with a die grinder... you can fit 75series cruiser cv's these have a band on the edge and are alot stronger than the hilux ones
 bugger my pics that show this are 10 pix to wide... you'll just have to imagine what I'm talking about

Cheers Reece

I would have thought the Prado one should already be the stronger one with the band.

I'm not a 100% but from what I've found the bulk of the cruiser stuff is the same CV as the hilux the exception is the 75series with the band on the end of the bell and the 80 series with a different spline count and larger size
I'll check with my mate (parts guy at toyota) on monday

Cheers Reece

you will have to wait for someone with more knowledge to come along, but the 80 series may be the same set, mine is high pinion in the front bla bla bla

I just don't know about the CVs etc etc

If it's high pinion with electric locker chances are it's an 80 series diff to begin with.

It'll pay to try and get the right CV for the axle that you have, not the axle that was originally in there.

I think the high pinion diffs were when they stopped being hilux~>landcruiser interchangable.

May be worth checking if Jafa's "better than factory" CV's will fit????, my LJ has the same high pinion front and should be the same CV
