35's on a cruiser

what sort of lift do you need on a 80 series cruiser to fit 35's simexs under??,all new to me in da toyota department

i personally haven't done it

and don't do the body lift
I reckon it will be a waste of time
I think you will get the clearance you need with a simple 2" lift or similar
my 33s fit on 8.5" rims with no rub at articulation, so 35s shouldn't be too hard to get to fit

my bro-in-law installed a 4 inch spring lift and runs 35 mudzillas with no rubbing at all
differant story about being able to turn the wheels when full of mud and in real hard places though

I have 2 inch spring lift and needed 2 inch body lift to fit my 35 simexs, went for body lift to keep centre of gravity down. No clerance issues now. Cheers

I've got 35" MTRs on my 80. They're a bit worn but fit with no lift at all just had a lot of rub on the very top of the guard. The 80s have big guards so you don't need to do any chopping.
Mine are on 10" rims, if they are on 8" rims then they probably wont rub because of course the rim pulls the tyre out 2 more inches.
I've put two inch spacers in and they clear perfectly in the rear but there is still a tiny bit of rub in the front because I've taken the sway bar off.
Simexs are bigger then 35 of course so go 4" for that extra performance.

isn't this correct?? obviously putting in a body lift will raise the centre of gravity but if the reason you are doing it is to fit bigger tyres you only have two options, suspension lift or a body lift. A suspension lift will raise the centre of gravity more then a body lift will becauce with a body lift you are keeping the chasis and all the heavy bits as low as possible and only lifting the body.
This is assuming we ignore option 3 of cutting the gaurds..
