Gen 1 LWB - Safari Springs ?

Post by mmmm4444 »

I have a Gen 1 LWB V6 with a 2 inch body lift running 33inch muds

I need some new heavy duty rear spring and have heard that safari springs will fit but......

Can they be from a LWB or SWB Safari ?

Can I use standard safari springs or do they need to be longer and/or heavy duty ?

Any tips on fitting them ?

Was thinking of picking up some second hand ones on trademe but need some advice first

Cheers

I put swb gq springs in my j top and got about 4.5" of lift, I'm guessing in a lwb paj you'll gain about 2.5-3"s of lift with std swb springs.

Just to add the springs needed to upgrade the pajero springs are the FRONT safari springs. Also make sure you install them the correct way up and the slightly longer one on the drivers side.

Undo shocks, centre brake hose and take off the wheels. It took an experienced team of 2 guys about 1.5 hrs but allow for atleast 2/3 hrs for 2 DIYers

They have given my truck 2"+ of lift and make it hold the road like a dream compared to my old setup.

Good luck
