I am new to owning a diesel motor, just bought a 1992 1pz cruiser. goes great when warm but very noisy on start up, I know diesels knock a tad when you cold start them but this sounds quite loud to me.. But the guy I bought it from was a engineer and assured me it was well maintained.. Anyway any advice gratefully welcomed as I am new to diesels..

i got a 92 landcriser with a 1pz and its very smooth runner its got over 350.000 km on it sounds the same it cold or hot !

these motors have a dual mass flywheel, it maybe that sending warning signals. or not.
mine was very smooth as well with no real difference in noise from cold to hot, mine had done 370000km before i got rid of it with my ex hahaha
